The Volvo V70 XC crossover was a full-size crossover choice that didn't require an extension to be put onto the driveway, and it navigated both low-ceiling parking garages and narrow city streets with ease. Loyal Volvo fans flocked to this newest all-wheel drive wonder, and they were greatly appreciative of the opportunity to purchase a car that was not only chock full of the standard safety and comfort gear that Volvo typically provided, but one that also avoided the rough and tumble driving experience usually associated with an SUV. Their home country of Sweden offered up some genuinely inhospitable conditions in colder weather, and as such the very first Volvo crossover, dubbed the 'Cross Country' (later shortened to XC) was tuned to attack even the toughest snow drifts and iciest roads. In this respect, Volvo had a definite edge. In combination with better than average ground clearance, these vehicles were intended to appeal to those who lived in snowy regions of the country where traction was prized above all else during the winter months. Brought forth by Subaru and Volvo, these new wagons traded in their suburban duds for aggressive body cladding and rugged all-wheel drive systems. The very first crossovers were in fact variations on the long-suffering station wagon. These vehicles have become such a standard part of every day living in North America that most people would have trouble thinking back to a time when the term 'crossover' was new and the designs which would popularize it amongst the car-buying public were about as far away from a truck or a van as drivers could get. Crossovers today have largely become synonymous with many of the same traits that used to be the exclusive realm of minivans and SUVs: large, upright passenger compartments, tall ground clearance and an imposing physical presence that is usually bigger and heavier than the typical automobile. Don't be reading Umineko Chiru before you've read the first half. Ultimately, each story- Higurashi, Umineko, and Ciconia- are separate and can be enjoyed as a standalone, but when you start a story, read it in order. Definitely avoid Passione's Higurashi anime (Higurashi Gou/Sotsu) until you've completed the original Higurashi Kai, but it can be skipped completely. They are watered down and some twists aren't as impactful as it could have been, but are revealed nonetheless, so it could take away the impact when you read the VNs. If you're interested in watching anime, it's your call whether to see it before you read the VNs or not. Being familiar with certain mechanics from umineko can help make ciconia easier to follow. Umineko does have extras too like Hane and Saku which again, add some interesting context, but aren't needed for the story.Ĭiconia is only on phase 1, but definitely it'll be good to have context from both Higurashi's and Umineko's stories before diving in. They're little and don't add much to Umineko's story though- you fen enjoy Umineko without it. Nothing too much would be lost, but imo Higurashi is a good warm-up before tackling Umineko- you get an idea of the authors writing, it's an easier story imo, and there's cool little things that make more sense with the context of Higurashi. You could potentially skip Higurashi before Umineko. Once you've done that, move onto Umineko and Umineko Chiru. The first four are available as part of the Question Arc on Steam. They are cute though and give an interesting sort of "what if" Umineko When They Cry is a kinetic visual novel that is also broken up into multiple chapters. The rest of Rei and the new chapters in Hou aren't really Canon and don't move the story forward. Saikoroshi-hen from Higurashi Rei is really good and could be read before Umineko too. At least get Higurashi and Higurashi Kai, before moving on to Umineko. Member Guest tickets are only valid with a named Member present. “Something about a GIF is like pop music or fast food: instantly consumable,” said Reddit user 88Remmer (Opens in a new tab), who moderates several of the most popular porn GIF subreddits, like r/bestporngifs (Opens in a new tab) (currently at 175,000 members). Not all porn GIFs, for the record, need mass appeal they often thrive because they serve niche tastes and sexualities that tube sites don't cater to. “I've been making porn GIFs for over five years now, and I think it's the best way to express and share my sexual desires creatively,” said the Footprince, who runs the Sockfetishgifs Twitter account (Opens in a new tab) (often crossposted to r/socksgonewild (Opens in a new tab)), despite identifying as asexual himself. On top of all that, you need to have a good eye for deliciously succinct sexiness. You not only need to be proficient with certain editing tools, but also patient enough to search for videos that will translate well into the GIF format. While seemingly simple, making porn GIFs requires its own kind of craft. “Something about a GIF is like pop music or fast food: instantly consumable.” “The perfect GIF is the climax of a certain porn scene or video, e.g., where an actor unclasps their bra to reveal their breasts, or pulls down their briefs to reveal a throbbing penis, or the moment where full penetration occurs,” said Reddit user SparklyRen (Opens in a new tab), a lawyer in his late 20s who identifies as gay and moderates various subreddits like r/GayPorn (Opens in a new tab) and r/GayGifs (Opens in a new tab) (currently at 92,000 members). Many of the folks we talked to - from aficionados to NSFW GIF creators themselves - say it is by far their favorite, if not their only, form of porn consumption, and for good reason. But the short-form format isn’t all that’s unique about porn GIFs. Porn GIFs distill any variety of adult video into a looping image that can last from mere seconds to a full minute. When the GIF became the internet’s preferred visual language, it simultaneously became the preferred lust language for many consumers of adult entertainment. At its zenith, the Bavarian illuminati operated in a very large area, extending from Italy to Denmark and from Warsaw to Paris. The movement over time acquired a rigorously complex constitution and internal communication system, conducted in a cipher. Weishaupt’s recruitment efforts spread across the cities of Bavaria, and he also made connections with a number of Masonic lodges, where his group often managed to gain a prominent position. Weishaupt wanted to replace Christianity with a religion of reason, and the members of his society called themselves “Perfectibilists.” The society was carefully structured and divided into three main classes. It was founded in 1776 by Adam Weishaupt, professor of canon law at Ingolstadt and former Jesuit. The Bavarian illuminati group was a movement of republican free thought and is probably the most prominent group associated with the name illuminati. Much of what is known about them comes from their earliest extant text, Fama Fraternitatis, first published in 1614, which describes the journey of their founder, Christian Rosencreutz. Another early group associated with the illuminati was the Rosicrucians, who came to public attention in the early 16th century but claimed to go back to 1422. Ignatius of Loyola was charged with having sympathies with the Alumbrado movement. Many Alumbrados later fell victim to the Inquisition, and St. A very early leader was María de Santo Domingo, a prophet and mystic who claimed to converse directly with Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary and was tried under the auspices of the Inquisition. One of the early illuminati groups was the Alumbrados (“Enlightened Ones”), whose movement began in Spain in the 16th century and had ideological roots in gnosticism. Though the term illuminati has been most closely associated with the 18th-century movement of republican free thought in Bavaria, the word has in fact been in use since the late 15th century to refer to various groups. Many members of the Alumbrado movement in the early 16th century fell victim to the Inquisition, and the Bavarian group was eventually shut down by the government. They were generally met by censorship and resistance from the state. The doctrines of these groups had a number of different ideological influences, including Christian gnosticism and Egyptian Hermeticism the Bavarian group wanted to create a religion of reason. The doctrines, practices, and rituals of illuminati groups are generally shrouded in secrecy: the Bavarian illuminati adopted a cipher for communicating with each other, while the Rosicrucian order claimed to be bound to secrecy for 100 years from their foundation. Members of these groups claim to be unusually enlightened, with the “light” attributed to a higher source or to an exalted condition of the human intelligence. Illuminati-the plural of the Latin word illuminatus, meaning “enlightened”-is a name that has been in use since the late 15th century and has been applied to various groups since then.
